Its all right. I'm 21 and 190 cm tall (My dad's 182 cm and mom 155 cm tall). When I was 17 I was around 179 cm too. You'll be just fine. You'll be taller than your dad since you normally grow till you're 21.

Many factors can affect height. Genes, nutrition, etc.

But if I remember correctly, my teacher once said that your height when you were at two years of age, multiply it by two and you'll have an estimate of your adult height.

There are Olympic swimmers smaller than you are. The taller you are, the shorter your life expectancy and more health problems.

Dont worry, most men end up a bit shorter than their dad's it's normal. But 179 cm is not small, the average height of a man is only
5'9", so yoo're a good inch above average.
