For any that hasn't seen this yet, I found it the other day. I haven't completely finished it, nor do I know how credible it all is(looking into that as I read it piece by piece), but it's a pretty interesting read. Even if you don't buy the accusation of plagiarism, there's at least a lot of mention and explanation, as well as links to, the mythologies Christianity has appeared to plagiarize from, which are sounding quite familiar.

If anyone here has read it, I'd really appreciate your feedback and insight to the text.

Link:

Edit: Another link someone sent me once; it talks about myths that had virgin mothers as well.

What, a book written thousands of years ago, through hundreds of different translations, while being one of the most controversial works of fiction known to man has changed over time? Perish the thought.

It's not talking about how the Bible has changed, it's talking about how many of the Bible's accounts can be found in mythologies that predate it, particular Sumerian myths

A few years ago DNA testing was done on a Lemba tribe in South Africa result shown that they were direct decadents of ancient hebrews genetically it goes to show you how war and discrimination damage the foundations of the world.

I was aware of this but thanks for sharing

It is obvious that some Jews would try to make a religion that favors them, it is a common human trait. They alter history to paint their group as superior.

An example is ancient egypt where for years Some Europeans wanted the world to believe that the people of Kemet were Caucasians.

There's also 101 contradictions in the Bible.

With so many versions of the Bible going around I am not surprised. According to some the most common versions of the book around were written a mere 400-500 years ago. It being written by different people who speak different languages, have different cultures, have no means of communicating and lived in different times makes it impossible for it not to have contradictions

Romans were famous for this. They'd make taking over other nations easier by learning of their culture, then going "We have this version of that God too!" That's why Roman mythology and Greek mythology matches up fairly well.

Oh yeah I remember reading some of these. And the damage control for it.

Yup

zeus=Jupiter
Hades= Pluto and so on. People steal culture (especially after take overs) from others it is still happening today.

Assuming that the bible is true I presume it would go a little like this;
People who predate the creation of the first bible chapters would have written accounts of their experiences, or passed them down verbally. (I mean who wouldn't? Some of these are hella awesome stories)
Other civilisations would appropriate them and twist them into their own religion/beliefs.
Later all of these experiences would be compiled by someone under 'divine inspiration' into anthologies that would make up the current bible.
Just another way to look at things I suppose.

Yeah if I can recall, I believe it was from Ahmed Deedat who pointed out the contradictions. I also heard some guy from CNN forged a Bible. I also never knew about the Roman and Greek problem. Makes sense since Greek did have some origins I can agree on....

*Sigh* I hate when people discuss topics that are so much bigger than they are...
I'm convinced that no one, living or dead, has or will ever know more than 5% of the all the truths of both the world and of life.
Even if someone were to spend his/her entire lifetime traveling every corner of the planet and reading informational books, he/she still would be unable to figure out the meaning of our existence.

Don't try to force your beliefs onto others when you yourself don't have the answers to the most important questions such as:
What happens when we die?
What's the point of mankind?
Is there a higher being?
Is everything fate, chance, or a mixture of both?

I personally wouldn't even bother trying to answer those questions without having full knowledge of biology, chemistry, astrology, physics, meteorology, ecology, time, etc. All the branch studies, as well. Such as quantum physics.

You do realize that not once did I claim in this thread or try to convince anyone that God doesn't exist, or tell anyone my beliefs. This thread was to link to an interesting article that shows stories from mythologies that have come before the Bible that are almost identical to many Bible accounts.

All of what you posted, yhe meaning of existence, how we got here, does God exist, where do we go, doesn't change the core topic of the thread and displays that you didn't even take the time to read or comprehend what the thread is about.
