I think it would be pretty close actually.
Lee was easily beat at the time but he could only use the first gate and he was not nearly at his best plus he seemed to have his weights on also which would have hindered him further.

I think Lee could damage him at his best though especially with the gates.

It wouldn't be a one hit KO battle but I think Lee could pull it off maybe not all the time but at least half the time.

You guys do realize that less than a day before Lee fought Kimimaro, he wasn't even cleared to walk around without crutches? Lee rapes him healthy. He beat up Absolute Defense Gaara, of course he'll slaughter Kimimaro. Konoha Senpuu, spinning dropkick, then Omote Renge for the mid diff win.
