Minato and Naruto are not the same type of characters nor are they both based on the same character. This is not a excuse this is how he is portrayed in the manga. Naruto is based on Ashura who needed help to get stronger.

Never said they were the same character or even based on the same character, I said they have the same beliefs(meaning friendship and all that Jazz makes you stronger) haku did too. Like I said there is a difference between someone getting stronger by training with or by someone and someone getting stronger only when someone decides to train them or supply them with chakra. Hashirama, Minato, Ashura are the former and Naruto is the later.

If you don't believe me show me one example of Naruto getting significantly stronger without someone telling him its time to train or supplying him with chakra

The biggest difference in Minata and Naruto is that one is genuis while the other is not. Naruto was never gonna be the one who would create a jutsue and impress you. That is why your arguement doesn't phase me. Because his character was never of some sort of genuis. You are expecting too much from a character like him if you got a problem with that.

Honestly Jiraiya taught him nothing but if you wanna get technical about it the story was starting to center around Nardo playing catch up to sasuke and kishi pretty much wanted us to experience Naruto's gradual power increase visually whereas sasuke did a **** ton of shit off panel. It makes 0 sense that jiraiya didn't try to show him anything concerning sagemode though.

I doubt Naruto would have had the motivation to learn any aspect of Sage Mode before Jiraiya died.
