Yes, for example: I taught myself the movements of the Islamic prayer (salah), as well as some prominent prayer words (I even memorized the main surah of the salah in Arabic though now I have forgotten) so that I could feign conversion to Islam (or "reversion" as they would call it) and "infiltrate", if you will, Islamic circles - I noticed that as a White guy I got a lot of stares from Muslims in Islamic environments. Once upon a time, I would go to Friday prayers at mosques and listen to Islamic preachers at other times, just to observe the Muslim community with my own eyes and ears.

You could say I practiced a reverse form of the Shia "taqiyya". Almost invariably I would discover that what Muslims say and preach amongst themselves as opposed to in the western media or with infidels are two very different beasts. Mockery of the infidel, as abounds in the Quran, for example is common rhetoric, as is hatred, contempt and disrespect for the host culture of the British peoples, in these settings. Although the rhetoric of preachers tends to be more of a Quranic style "how blind, deaf and dumb the kuffar are" etc than plain old insulting, I do admit.

Trolling, when done as an art and craft, is to me of much comedic value if nothing else.

I was driving to this party and we had to take multiple cars, so my friend was following me down the highway and I just peeled off. I was going like 90 and just left them. We were at the the party for like an hour before they showed up, and when my friend got there he had showed me he got a speeding ticket.

That was the epitome for me. Lol

I was playing Black Ops 2 Zombies with my friend who's only played the World at War maps and Black Ops 1 on the Die Rise map (the Chinese skyscraper map) and we were riding the elevator up and I told him I was getting off on this floor and ran forward then said sike and backed up and he ran straight off and I was laughing so hard because he died.

Mine is way better than any of yours.

See ladies and gentleman this brain-fart of a reply here is an example of how NOT to troll. One has to infuse some originality and just a tiny bit of intelligence into the craft, otherwise we get brain-farting. And no, I for one see the noble art of trolling as more than mere brain-farting.

Sorry bro, I can't help it. In the past few years (only about 2-3 years I think) I actually started this nowadays magical practice of reading non-fiction books (e.g. philosophy and incidentally, some Islamic texts as another example) and it seems that over only a few years they had truly magical impacts upon my mind: not only did my ability to verbally express myself magically go up but my very patterns of thought were affected. I ain't putting much effort in those big words, merely expressing my thoughts. Go back to my earliest posts in this very forum and you will find that just 2 years ago, this ability of mine was far more tenuous.

So verbal ability can indeed be learned, if you engaged in that mystical witchcraft called reading (and I am not talking about reading Harry Potter, more like reading Arthur Schopenhauer). You too can learn this witchcraft if you are patient and persistent enough.

I'm sure it can be learned. The problem, is that it makes one sound pretentious, and not necessarily more intelligent. The mark of true intellect is the ability to relate concepts to the common man. To teach but not condescend. And I don't agree with Schopenhauer's thoughts on women

Really? I sound that pretentious to you? You know, I frequent some philosophy forums and honestly I always thought that I appear as a really straightforward guy! But then again, I did attempt to read some of the works of the likes of Hegel and Kant and on a related note, I definitely would agree with you that verbosity doesn't necessarily make you sound more intelligent, you need only read the aforementioned dudes to see just what pretentious actually means.

See the problem as I have told you friend is that when you persist in that witchcraft of reading, you find your very thought patterns affected over some time. Hence now I have to actually exert effort into not using this manner of conversation, which I do actually do here from time to time in my effort to be a bit more "laid back" and will do more often if you think its really worth it but we are on the internetz, and in particular, in a thread about trolling.

PS: I see Schopenhauer's essay on women as a paragon of the style of trolling I find funniest of all, and not something worth actually taking seriously in the 21st century. His philosophy of the will, on the other hand, is first class philosophy, which I encourage you to read.
