Really what I learnt from Naruto Uzumaki is his perseverance, its really hard sometimes in this hell of a world and so we are bound to be disappointed at times but when I remember this "When you start doubting yourself it's over", I just find some kind of strength, Naruto's life is basically a story worth telling. Also from basically everyone in Naruto, I learnt the possibility of finding what to actually live for and make sure its worth protecting.

It taught me that apparently childish dreams beat out rational decision making.
Or you can be less cynical and say that: through Naruto, I learned that there's always something to strive for. Though the "childish" dreams may not be attainable realistically, it is still something that an average man can aim for, making society a better place despite having it's Madara's and Sasuke's.

But really, the "childish" dreams do not have to act as a final, set-in-stone, goal. Instead, it can be incorporated with rational decision making. Naruto may have ignored the rational decision making part of it, but the underlying message still applies. Heck, the act of ignoring rational decision making and basing some decisions off of visceral instincts is another lessons in of itself. So really, I learned a crap ton from Naruto. It was a very good series, due to its surface plot and underlying messages.
