Yep. Happened to me, last December at my part-time job. Amanda...
It was mostly my own fault, for assuming too much, and overreacting to signals meant as friendly. Still, she got me good. Nearly 100 $ dollars later, and I knew I was friend-zoned....I wasn't even mad though. I applauded her deception. She was good.
I wouldn't worry too much over this. Part of why you may still be lingering around this guy could be pride. Hell, I know for me, one of the main reasons for wanting this girl so bad, was a reluctance to quit. Pride can often sting. Eventually, though you'll get over it.
