How small are we? Ever see planes close up? Giant, right? Now, ever see planes flying, and at a distance, they look small, but close up, you know they're giant? Well, now, ever see a star in the night? Well, they're like a gajillion (what's the biggest measurement we have?) times farther than us, and we can still see them. Now, imagine being up close to a star. They're like a bajigajillion times bigger than planes. Now, multiply bajigajillion by infinity, and you'll know how small we really are compared to the entire galaxies.
Anyways, the people making that Gundam comment... Japan already had one built a few years ago. It was giant like a real Gundam (not sure if 1:1), and had functioning things, like the head moving, but Gundams are 100% real. The Japanese probably just needs a few more years before that freaking real life Gundam gets built, androgynous looking teenage Japanese boys who are friends with teenage girls with giant racks are the ones that drive these Gundams, and not capable adults, we all have space wars, and all current military weaponry we have will be deemed obsolete because of one giant robot.
