This is something I want to know. Some people are under the assumption that that Hagoromo didn't have it, while others say he did. Obviously he wasn't technically the Jin at the time, but he was able to give two powers directly related to being the Jin (Rin'negan is a devolved Sharin'ngan from Kaguya and Six Paths Senjutsu is from the Juubi).

That is what happened, but Sasuke's eye is a Rinnegan. The DataBook should say so, and the fact that it's purple while the RinneSharingan is red, also creates a difference.
