When you see a thread that you feel infringes on the rules of the site, report it. We will evaluate it and, if necessary, take action. However, we do not nor is it possible for us to do so, to read all the threads and all the posts in NB.
Additionally, if no one reports a given thread, we go under the impression that its not insulting anyone or isn't an issue and as such, we allow the discussion to continue. Thats why we need reports to more thouroughly do our jobs. And reporting doesn't take much effort from a member to do.
Our job is to try and keep a healthy mood and enviroment for everyone. For this to be possible, its not our goal to 100% cut all possible freedom of speech and institute a "lets only talk about rainbows and butterflies" policy nor do we want a 100% "free cesspool of nonesensical and half assed opinions and ideas about wtv" approach that would transform NB into a sort of garbage dump of all random ideas, feelings and opinions dwelling in prebubescent ignorant teenage minds... To reach the ideal middle ground, we need members to report threads, VMs, PMs and posts that infringe on the rules or, even if they don't directly break the rules, they feel is insulting or otherwise disruptive for the Forum.
Its a bit like complaining and being against bullying and not intervening or calling a teacher when a friend of yours is being bullied in the courtyard. If you do something about it, regardless of it happening to you or someone around you, you're doing your part and making the system work. Same principle applies here in NB. Report it and we will take care of it. It may take...10 minutes or an hour but we will look at it. Don't make a mistake thinking we won't. And trust me, we take action, even if you might not see the action taken directly.
TL; DR = Report threads that break the rules, don't incite hate, love each other and follow the rules of the site.
