Hating Villains (Good writing or just actual hate)

What's the difference between hating an antagonist due to personal reasons or because they're just written too well. I mean like, some villains you're just meant to hate (Vader, Loki, Green Goblin, Sylar) and so they're just written as bad guys well and then sometimes you just genuinely dislike the character. Where do you draw the line?

I find it weird with Naruto because some villains like Deidara and Orochimaru you're not meant to sympathise with- they're just genuinely evil because of something that drives them but then you get a villain like Danzo who you're led to hate.
I find myself disliking Danzo because he's a genuinely good villain but then I don't get the same feeling with Obito, who I just actually dislike because his backstory is a bit ridiculous. What do you guys think?

Hating a villain can be for the right reasons or the wrong ones.

For example, In Naruto: Orochimaru is a good villain....he's sadistic, manipulative, strong, cunning, and does what he does for himself.

Obito is not as great of a villain....partially because his motives aren't purely evil, but more so because of some of the fundamental reasons behind his motives. Also, the fact that he is still trying to change people after they clearly are going to fight has made him look rather childish (just my opinion).

In Fairy Tail, Minerva is an amazing Villain: she is cruel and sadistic. Screwed over my favorit character (Erza)!

The Joker and Scarecrow are probably two of the greatest villains in my opinion. They commit evil for the act of doing it. They are also sadistic in doing so.

Joker does what he does because he can....having a plan for no plan at all.
Scarecrow wanting to drive fear into people as well as trying to feel fear.

Well I am not the most suited to talk about this because most of the times I am supporting the villains but, it's a choice the author makes.
He can make the reader hate the villain by making him act in a way that the reader will find annoying, disgusting or too cruel or, he can give the villain a dark side but still make the reader sometimes not feel any hate towards him but even maybe support him.
