Isn't this entire thing about being weak and then proceeding to fight back contradictory in itself? Bullies generally do prey on weaker people because they're either not strong enough to face the conflict or are too weak to physically fight back. Why would someone even think about fighting back if the guy is twice their size? Sometimes you can't fight back and when you do it ends up much worse. I'm not saying it will always end up worse, but the odds aren't really in your favor for the situation to become better by fighting back.

The biggest part about the bystander being the reason why bullying still happens (which I personally think is utter bullshit) is fear of conflict. People don't want to get involved for the same reason that they're afraid that something will happen to them, most likely something bad. Sometimes if it's one person you might be able to fight back but a lot of the time bullies can simply gang up on the small people which a lot of people don't want to get involved in. I'm not american or anything so I can't speak, but with the ease of getting guns which I've heard is rather easy over there means that even bigger fear where you can potentially get killed just for intervening and really, I like my life too much for it to be taken away because I wanted to help someone who was being bullied.

I don't think the video is 100% correct in the solution being the bystander, but the bully themselves. Of course the bystander can just step in and try to stop it, and if it does work the bully can still go after the target when said person isn't even around.

Some one who bullies is originally not a bully. Most get influenced by their friends in their class or were also victims of bullying. Some driven by arrogance (usually rich ones) think no one can harm them and they bully. There are also twisted minds who bully just for fun not realizing that this mentally affects the bullied person's mind and the latter bullies to avenge himself. Usually the ones who are easy, small and weak willed tend to get bullied, the bullies themselves know they're an easy target. Well for me, there's been a time when I was a kid that the other kids use to laugh and mock me, act racist, use weird slangs and whatever, back when i was in england, I usually just smiled and walked away, been times where the kids crossed the line and i got into fights, that was when I was very young, no one even tries to do that shit anymore.
