So where Juubi can use Mokuton to take energy from people Hashirama can do that as well probably.

My guess is Madara knew this about Hashirama and wanted to fight him so Hashirama couldn't drain Obito of the Juubi's chakra putting a hamper on his plan.

Maybe Madara's trump card involved Obito not knowing this and killing him after he uses chakra rods to control him to perform rinne tensei.

hashiramas mokuton can suppress chakra, but not on anywhere near the level that the god tree can.

On a serious note....I think we are now getting a better idea why Madara really stopped Hashi from interfering.

But if the god tree needed so much chakra to take form...why was Obito and Madara using mass attacks from the meteorite and Juubi Beast bombs to wipe out many shinobi?...shinobi they needed alive
