And Orochimaru accused Hiruzen of being too compassionate because Hiruzen wasn't willing to do anything to stay alive, as he was.

If YOU were to read the scan, it clearly shows that he was completely capable of mobility and was in no way impaired besides his vision, which was gone because of bringer of darkness. His guard was up to the highest amount that it could have been (which isn't much because he couldn't see a thing). In no way did waiting for the dead demon seal keep him from defending himself. In reality, he probably further kept his guard up so as to make sure he was still alive so that he could have the highest chance of actually using the jutsu before he died.

Also, how could he have unknowingly placed an explosive tag on Oro's head, are you really that naive? And he would have never used the dead demon seal in the beginning of a fight, it would be a stupid and risky move. Seriously, get real and understand that you are spouting complete nonsense and anyone with any knowledge of the manga would never for a moment agree with you.
