Kakuzu did fight Hashirama, but neither of them died from that battle, but im guessing Hashirama won.
And it was Kakuzu vs Kakashi & Team Asuma + Naruto and Yamato, who saved them from Kakuzu's fire release jutsu.

I'm going to go ahead and just ignore the fact you called Kakuzu a fodder. He lost having to face Kakashi, Ino, Choji, Prep-Time Shikamaru, Yamato, the Protagonist, and with a masochist who rarely rationalized what was going on as his teammate.

Kakashi's Kamui has literally not changed. He's received more uses of it thanks to Chakra being replenished, and plausibly being close to Obito (which isn't a power up to flaunt since Obito is an enemy). Kakuzu flat out trashed Kakashi and Co despite the fact Kakashi HAD Kamui.

Took some extreme plot and fighting the antagonist to kill him... Heck he even survived Naruto's Rasenshuriken.

Besides, we already know for the most part the mission failed, and hence why Kakuzu was berated and tortured by his village. He escaped Hashirama's Mokuton. It is unlikely his actions killed Hashirama unless they were long term side effects or a delayed one.

There isn't a single member of Akatsuki who is fodder <(-_-<)

Here's what I think that went down...

Shodai Kazekage rebelled against Hashirama's ideals and Raikage, Kakuzu, Mizukage and the Kazekage jumped on the bandwagon.

Hashirama soloed all of them in a gruesome way. Kakuzu managed to escape.

His techniques werent like Tsunades... He was just said to have been able to heal people without weaving handseals... That doesnt mean that Hashirama used Mitotic Regeneration... MAybe it was like another perp to wood style or maybe it was just that he was that gifted in medical ninjutsu that he managed to do healings without handseals xD
