Hashirama's age mystery

When Hashi was told that 5th hokage was Tsunade, he gave out some emotions...
point is, he knew her, & she being his grand-daughter, he'd have certainly lived quite long....
Now we all know tobirama died protecting his comrades, at his peak-performance age, & hiruzen was appointed as the next hokage....where was Hashi at this time ?
he was definitely alive....
another question which comes in my mind, is why tobirama was appointed as 2nd hokage when hashi was still there ?
Its not as if Hashi went away for penance after madara incident!! he should've been more determined to stay in village as it was his dream to create the village...
Any Guesses ? or will I have to wait for this ever lasting flashback of manga chapters to end in order to know abt it ?

Hashirama was surprised when he heard how Tobirama cornered the uchihas or how Tobirama ran the village. I don't think he was alive when Tobirama became hokage or at least left the village for good.

I don't think his age is really a "mystery" but rather something that doesn't have a set timeline. Let's assume Hashi and Madara were about 10-12 years old when they first met and skipped rocks. If that were to be true, then in this first image,

they would be closer to 16-18. Now, when they first became "heads of our respective clans", they looked to be between the ages 20-30. It's never stated how many years or how much time went by, so it could have been 5-10 years before they actually started Konoha. So with that, they'd be between 30-40 years of age. According to Narutopedia (I know, it could be wrong) the legendary sannin are said to be close to 54 years old. Tsunade was maybe 5 years old whenever we seen Hashi and Tsunade together for the first time, so I don't think it's impossible or far fetched to say that Hashi wasn't too old nor too young to have met his granddaughter. Just my opinion, plus we all know that the Senju has great "incredibly life force and physical energy" and that Tsunade is considerably older than what her appearance that we see, due to her chakra she stores so who's to say Hashi couldn't do the same?

Hashirama died and Tobirama was appointed the 2nd. Tobirama died as soon as 1-2 years after becoming Hokage. If you do the math, knowing Hiruzen is 69 years old in part 1 and Tsunade was 50, than its perfectly logical that Hashirama met Tsunade. Hiruzen was about 25-30 when the 2nd died, so that means Tsunade was between 5 and 10. Considering the 2nd's reign was short, she was probably about 3-8 years old when the first died. Based on the image of the manga, it seems likely 3-4 which would mean Hiruzen was about 25 or 26 when the 2nd died.

I think the title wasnt appropriate, its not the age I'm exactly concerned about, but the fact that hashirama made tobirama as 2nd hokage not long after becoming the 1st hokage, & he didnt knew abt the affairs handled by tobirama, & for the matter, he ddidnt know anything after he gave up as hokage....so if we assume he died during that period, everything seems to fit perfectly, except the fact that he knew his granddaughter....
even if it was like he "had" a grand-daughter, it can be understood, because only requirement for that would be for mito to be pregnant,ie it'd still satisfy the fact that hashi died as adult soon....but for him to actually "know" tsunade & teach her gambling, would require him to be atleast 50 yr old....

About age, before the villages people died young so they reproduced young.

What it meant for Hashi to have known Tsunade, simply is, that Tobirama died very early in the war. In other words, he was hokage for less than a year, or it doesn't add up....

All in all it's just another blunter by Kishi, he has done the same over and over throughout the manga. Luckily he can just explain it in the future, and thus the blunter has been "fixed", that those "reparations" are too obvious, is the sad part.

Kakuzu died at 91. . . . . . . . . which means there is no way he was 95.

Hashirama died during it, and Tobirama died maybe somewhere on the end of it.

I know that, cuz Hashirama didn't wanted there to be a war, so he shared the Tailed Beasts with the other countries to even the scales of power. But that didn't work and the First Ninja World War started.

WEll, what u said, if considered correct, it'd mean Hashirama was the hokage for a long long period, since the founding of village, till he taught his grand-daughter gambling, should be 25-30 yrs reign I suppose, & moreover, it'd also mean that tobirama was hokage when he was an old person....
However, all this contradicts the fact that edos are revived depending on what age they died, so when we see hashi & tobirama, its easy to say both died young.....so I guess the "teaching gambling to tsunade" thing is a big big plot hole...
