2. His senju heritage , his clan residing within the woodscouldve triggered his chakra nature
3.His senjutsu/ natural energy usage: being one of the first to utilize and weaponize senjutsu, he could have used it to manipulate inanimate objects such as trees ansd wood thus founding wood style.
