Im starting to think that Hashirama not only had Ashura's power, he had Hagoromo's senjutsu power too. He was a Beast-master! He had all of the tailed beasts under his control at one point. That is something you can only do with Hagoromo's power.

Hagoromo is a foul ass person. He knew he was wrong for giving Hashirama his senjutsu power. That's why he ended up giving itachi them spiritual weapons to make up for it. XD
