If Hashirama was not killed by a fodder in random war that were raging during revolutionary era:
1.) Any important character in the series would tell us that Hashi fought 10,000 shinobi like the 3rd Raikage
2.) Kishi would show us flashback like how Tobirama died fighting the Kinkau Special Force
3.) The random war that were raging during revolutionary era was as unimportant as the war that causes 9yrs old-Kabuto's amnesia.
4.) Kabuto would resurrect Hashirama's killer like Ginkaku/Kinkaku who brought Tobirama to the verge of death
5.) Edo-Madara should have known who killed Hashirama because he knew about Nagato
