Well, seeing as how it was created and activated while trapped in sand, in order to immobilize it properly, one would have to immobilize it COMPLETELY (as in make an air-tight seal right next to Joki Boi) in a material which cools down easily, so that it can't be heated up well. If Hashirama's wood can do this, he's good.

wood wouldnt be able to cool it down or stick to it. gaara needed the hail, gold and his own sand to stop the movement completely.

Hashirama cant stop it at all,wood wont do anything,it would just keep exploding until hashi gives up,if hashi covers it in wood,it will explode and the process will start again,hashi really cant do anything here
