Ok so, I've finally built up the patience to type out why I think Nagato would defeat Hashirama.

Firstly, Hashirama's main offensive ability is his Mokuton, and like any other ninjitsu this attack is made of chakra, and Nagato has this nifty ability called Preta path, which allows his to absorb any ninjitsu thrown his way, this renders Hasirama's Mokuton next to useless, and what's even handier, is that Nagato can use multiple paths at the same time, as demonstrated here;

This, would allow Nagato to be on the defensive at the same time as being on the offensive, giving him quite a lot of leverage, as when his opponent is using their attack, Nagato is absorbing it, and at the same time attacking, which will either result in them getting hit, or them stopping the attack to focus on defense.

As you could imagine, this is a very nasty thing for anyone to deal with in a fight, and because of this I can't see Hasirama's Mokuton doing a huge deal, so let's move on to another jutsu he can perform, Bringer of Darkness. Whenever Hasirama is involved in a versus, I always see this pop up, and what people don't take into account, is that Nagato could easily counter this, as Bringer of Darkness does nothing except negate the sight of the opponent. It does not paralyze them, or anything of the sort, it only negates their sight. So, how could Nagato counter this? Shinra tensei would be a perfectly fine counter, as he uses himself as the center, so anything that isn't him, get's hit, and as Bringer of Darkness is only short - mid range, Hashirama doesn't have much of a chance to get away / avoid it.

Now that we've covered how Nagato would deal with Hasirama, how's about we look at how Hashirama would counter Nagato, so, is there anyway Hashirama could counter Shinra tensei? Yes, in the same way Yamato uses Wood locking wall, I'm sure Hashirama could do the same, but, the only complication is that this would give Nagato to either do one of two things, close in on Hashi, or give him the opening to summon Gedo Mazo. Either of these things would be big trouble for Hashirama, as if he closes in, Nagato could use Shinra tensei to pull Hashirama into Nagato's arm distance, and this would let Nagato either stab Hashi with chakra disruption blades, annihilate him with Asura path or remove his soul with Human path. Now, I don't think Hashi would let his soul get removed, but a stab with a chakra disruption blade could do some serious damage, and Asura path could do even more.

Now, Chibaku tensei would be a whole different story, and before you say that Hashi could break out of it, remember, it took 8 tails of Kurama to break out of a Chibaku tensei cast by a sick Nagato, it's only logical to assume one cast by a healthy Nagato would be even bigger and stronger, and I doubt Hashirama could even break out of the Chibaku then was cast on Naruto, as Senju do have massive amounts of chakra, but nothing comparable to the sheer power / amount of Kurama 8 tails. As Chibaku is also fast to cast, I don't see Hasirama having time to stop Nagato from casting it, or destroy the sphere, as the sphere took a Tailed beast ball, Tomoe ranged attack (don't know its real name) from Itachi's Susanoo, and a rasen shuriken from Naruto in BM.

I'm giving this one to Nagato.

The only reason Hashirama supporters bring Bringer of the Darkness and the Flower thing up is because it's the only thing we actually know what Hashirama can do, he can do Wood and he can do Bringer of the Darkness, but how do you know what else he can do? You're not going to tell me that's all he can do, 1 Genjutsu and just a bit Wood, therefore we still gotta know what Hashirama is fully capable of and we will know it soon.
For now, Nagato > Hashirama
But you can't confirm it until we've seen what Hashirama is fully capable of because he will also have some naughty Senju tricks here and there like the Uchiha clan =DD
