Hashirama vs Madara

Hashirama was the most powerfull ninja of his times.
But if I read manga, I can't belive that he could beat Madara.
He hadn't Rinnegan but he still had awesome techniques and I can't find way how Hashirama defended to Tsukuyomi and Madara's full Susano'o. What of techniques can stop this Susano'o?
In the newest manga Madara said they can beat him with only physical power. Had Hashirama physical power to break his Susano'o?..

and controlling it whole time while challenging konoha, shodai and mito
all alone....

and still managing to mentally abuse 9tails and beat the shit out of hashirama,
fake your death, thus trolling your oponents, grabbing your nemesis`s DNA and awakening rinnegan...

that should tell u something

I honestly dont see how he lost to the tree hugger either. Even without rinnegan hes freaking hax.
