countering sasukes arrows wouldnt require any effort on hashiramas part. he makes 1 mokuton tree to redirect its course, just like danzo did. once we see the effects of izanami then it can be used in a debate. after itachi uses izanami he loses his sharingan. madara already said that hashirama would make a way better challenge than fighting the 5 kages.

I would definitely say Hashirama in this battle. Besides the fact that Itachi and Sasuke don't measure up to Madara, Hashirama has vast experience in fighting Uchiha. The fact that he beat an EMS user (plus 9-tails) shows that sharingan techs will be largely ineffective in this battle.

Hashirama would've been dead if he had gotten trapped in Uchiha genjutsu before, so there's no way he's getting caught in it against Itachi this time. Anyway, I expect Itachi would only use it on a wood clone, which would be useless, as only Madara was able to tell the difference between it and the real Hashirama.

Hashirama can block amaterasu with his wood, divert susano'o attacks, go inside his wood, fake out with a wood clone, heal even if he does get hit. The Uchiha's amaterasu and weapons will do little. And Hashirama won't be running out of stamina either.

This isn't even counting the flowering trees which would be difficult to get rid of, ultimate darkness, Hashirama's advantage of terrain, etc. The first Hokage is still too much for the Uchiha brothers.

You're basically just leaning on amaterasu and susano'o weapons. We have already seen that mokuton can divert susano'o weapons like the arrows. Danzo did it with a single tree. Hashirama can do it easily. Totsuka, for example, will be intercepted by branches so it starts absorbing them. I doubt it would reach far anyway. As for amaterasu, it can be blocked by medium-speed techs like Gaara's sand, so Hashi's mokuton will suffice. If it does burn Hashirama's wood he can just make more... and more... and more. Amaterasu or the susano'o weapons won't reach him.

Yes we have never seen Hashirama and Madara's fight. But we can easily make assumptions-- that Madara had genjutsu, for example, being an Uchiha with EMS. It would be ridiculous to say he didn't. Sure Itachi is smarter than Madara but not by much. You can't say Madara was stupid and in this case Itachi wins against Hashirama because he isn't stupid. Itachi and Sasuke's abilities are not very different from Madara's at all, and apparently Hashirama had a counter for all of them.

Anyway, imo Madara+Kyuubi>Itachi+Sasuke. I don't mean to oversimplify but I think the brothers can't win this one considering Hashirama's history of conflict and victory against Uchiha.
