So to be clear, you have no prior training in Earth release, right?*waits for Hashirama.. senpai*
Okay, okay. So I want you to begin by explaining to me what Earth is, both in the real world and the ninja world. Then I want you to explain earth to me in as much of a philosophical way as possible.Exactly senpai, I have absolutely no prior training in Earth release.
I have the most training in lightning release and a tiny bit of training in both fire and water
Very well thought out, interesting.Ok, I hope I don't ramble too much here...
In the Narutoverse - Earth is one of the five elements. Through the use of Earth Release, the user is able to use the earth surrounding him/her (from now on I will just say his) to his advantage. Pre-existing Earth is not always a requirement for Earth Release as a couple of jutsus actually create Earth. Earth Release is strong against water release but weak to lightning release. Earth release is a component of the kekei genkais Wood Release and Lava Release and the genkai tota dust release.
Due to being asked this by other sensei and senpais in training of other elements, I will list some Earth release users and justsus right off the bat - Earth release is common among shinobi of Iwagakure and some specific users are Onoki, Mu, Kakashi, Jiraya, Yamato, Hashirama, and Hiruzen. Some examples of jutsus are Earth Style: Hiding Like a Mole, Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld, and Rock Golem(when Akatsuchi was able to spit it out of his mouth.
In The Real World - Earth is name given to the plannet which we live on. The same word, earth (with a lowercase e), describes the substances on the ground and under ground. Earth (lowercase e) can be rock, stone, mud, dirt, mud, etc. The latin word for ground (and sometimes earth) is terra.
Philisophically - I don't really understand philosophy that well but I can try. Earth, despite being an inorganic substance, has long been viewed as a living being for a long time. The ancient Greeks believed in an immortal being called Gaia who embodied earth (the mother of many - Uranus, the Titans, the cyclopses, the Furies, the Hecatonchires [hundred-handed-ones], etc.). Similiarly, people today believe in Mother Nature. This theme throughout history demonstrates that earth has the ability to give birth to life and has the characteristics of living (it constantly changes)
@Bold -Alright, just a little tip here...do not say what happens in the real world while you are training, that is for the trainer to decide upon, that's like leading your training without your sensei/senpai having a say in anything that goes on. Just try to explain what you attempt to do.*I land on the ground and sit down*
Ok, I think I know what to do.
*I begin to meditate and think about the earth surrounding me*
(Thinking) Now I gotta start molding chakra.
*I continue to focus on the earth as I begin to mold chakra*
(Thinking) The earth around me is made up of small particles held together (a rock or just dirt). When the particles are held together, they become very strong, very sturdy, very...
*I continue to meditate on the strength of the earth while molding chakra.*
Several hours pass as I sit there meditating on the earth
*As I sit there, I am eventually able to make my chakra stronger*
(Thinking) I am just one more particle inside the earth...
*I focus on my strong chakra as I continue to mold it and make more.*
(Thinking) I am one with the Earth.
I am able to feell the small movements within the earth.
*You form a kunai*Sorry Senpai. It won't happen again.
*I begin to mold doton chakra. I channel it into my hands. I slam my hands onto the ground and have (at least try to have) the chakra from my hands move into the Earth.*
(Thinking) Shape of a kunai.
*Using the doton chakra that I had channeled into my hands, I try to shape the earth under my hands into the shape of a kunai.*
How did I do senpai?
Sorry but no. I'm only taking 5 students at a time. I think it's a hassle to train as a group as well.Hey can you train me and Bedlington as a group
O_O' Exactly how does my clone die? He would just simply die since he would be stuck within the ground. You have to finish him.*I mold doton chakra.*
(Thinking) I need to mold more chakra than before.
*I mold more doton chakra and channel it into my hands.*
Ok. Here goes.
*I attempt to dig into the ground and make a tunnel. The tunnel goes under the clone. The clone falls into the hole and dies (assuming my attempt is completely sucessful.*
I appoligize, I assumed that it was a clone (a projection) and it would therefore would have died upon impact. I should not have made an assumption, it won't happen again.
*I stab the clone as it falls into the tunnel with a kunai knife.*
Good.*I catch the rock and then start to mold doton chakra. I channel the chakra through my hands into the rock.*
(Thinking) In the shape of a staff.
*I focus on the shape and I channel the chakra into the rock in such a way that the rock will be compressed and elongated (the staff needs to be long). I also focus on the small details of the staff. I hold out the results.*'
