just wanted to say there is a few minor things wrong with your statement.
Hashirama is far more powerful then what has been shown from other wood users, just think of yamato about 100X stronger, with tsunade healing abilitities, weapon mastery better then tenten, more than likely earth and water abilitys, bringer of darkness genjutsu, sealing abilities from his wife, and bijuu taming abilities way better than yamato, plus his scroll full of kinjutsu... now that being said let me correct your madara part now. half those abilities madara did not have during his fight with hashirama,rinnegan , wood jutsu, he didnt have any of that at time now let me mentioin that madara had a tactical advantage during his fight with hashirama, he had his legendary fan weapon that reflects all jutsu used on it, he also had the kyuubi that gave him 2-1 advantage, and his ems with susanno so honestly hashirama bested madara he admitted it although madara lived... his life is somewhat the same as orochimaru after fuukin shin (death god) ripped his arms off lol he was useless without being attached to the statue he would die so after reviewing everything hashirama and madara were virtual equal with obviously the good guy being slightly stronger(kinda like sasuke and naruto *wink* *wink*) although madara respected him and vice versa they both sorta died (hashirama actually dieing and madara just becoming symbiotic with the statue leaving him useless in a fight)
