Hashirama didn't change Sasuke think about what happened (story time flashback):scorps:
Sasuke high off revenge emerges from his massacre of zetsu comes across his supposedly victimized brother over all else after death still prioritizing the leaf village who Sasuke saw as an evil organization manipulating his brother.
This makes Sasuke confused and honestly who wouldn't not only did Itachi not have a shred of animosity towards the village, but also blamed the entire ordeal on himself always trying to do things alone rather than trusting Sasuke.:T_T:
Now Sasuke with no villain and no victim he is left puzzled what he as an avenger should be doing._@: So he decides to resurrect the Kages not only to try and validate Itachi's story, but also to find out whether the village which he thought for the last couple hundred chapters is really as evil as he thought.
So with a new light on the village and their view of the Uchiha Sasuke decided that he should honor his brother's will and protect the leaf village.

Seeing as how...you know..before the Hokage reunion, Sasuke was still hell-bent on destroying the Leaf...and right afterward he decided to protect it? I'm pretty sure Hashirama's speech had some pull on Sasuke.

It seems to me that Hashirama gave Sasuke a little injection of the will of fire. Once Sasuke understood the will of fire, he was able to understand Itachi's feelings. Once Hashirama opened his eyes, he decided to join the battlefield and to not destroy Konoha.

I think people are reading too much into Sasuke's Decision... what Sasuke really said is he won't let madara and obito destroy Konoha because that would trample on Itachi's memory. Sasuke has felt manipulated all this time and he's finally making his own the decision, the last thing he wants is to be stuck in a infinite genjutsu by madara. I think he will help the alliance and they will defeat madara, but then what??? I don't see him just shaking hands with naruto and returning to the village, besides he's still an ex member of akatski and an international criminal. And what about Orochimaru, that snakey bastard is up to something big lol, he's being a lil too helpful.

Sasuke did at least aknowledge Naruto has an obstacle that had to be removed, to confirm his ninja way, by agreeing to throw all of his hatred at Naruto instead of the village... Sasuke never wanted Itachi's eyes, in fact he refused Tobi several times, he only agreed partially because he was going blind and also to obtain enough power to DESTROY Naruto
