Anyone remember Chiriku of the Fire Temple? I saw the page in the latest manga showing Hashirama's jutsu which he used in some sort of Sage Mode and I just remembered how it looked similar to a jutsu of a ninsho(ninja monk) of the Fire Village; Chiriku, one of the twelve guardian ninja.

Unfortunately, the jutsu performed by Chiriku is not shown in the manga but only in the anime. You should still be able to see the similarities anyways.

My theory is like Chiriku, Hashirama was also sometime in his life a ninja monk of the Fire Temple. Being a ninja monk of the Fire Temple would've given him access to "Senzoku no Sai" which is a special kind of chakra unique to the ninja monks of the Fire Temple. Nevertheless, there is also a slight difference between the two jutsu's since Hashirama's requires Sage Mode but Chiriku's doesn't. It states that the size and power of the spirit created by the jutsu is dependent upon the skill of the user. Chiriku also knew the which Hashirama seems to be very familiar with.

Well, to be honest, neither of those jutsu ever appeared in the manga, so I doubt there was ever meant to be a connection between the two

EDIT: When I say neither of those jutsu, I'm referring to the two techniques that Chiriku showed in the anime, the Thousand Hands, and the TB seal :p

Do you not see the manga page with Hashirama using The Many armed one of wood?

Edit: I see what you mean now.

OT: I don't think so, seeing as the Fire country probably didn't exist at that time.

Seen this thread already use search bar please

Sorry, search bar is lame. Even if I wanted to find a similar thread, I would not be able to find it. U_U

Please see the scans shown above^ Hashirama's is in the manga latest chapter. But unfortunately, Chiriku's is only shown in the anime and therefore isn't in the manga.

THAT'S HIS NAME!!!!!!! Someone had made this same thread..though less detailed...about how Asuma also had this technique!!!

I said Chikaku instead of Chiriku because I couldn't remember his name!!!!

Despite being anime only techs I find it interesting by the fact the move exists in the first place ^.^

Cool, yeah maybe a similar thread was made but this is still different. I've also added my own theory, maybe Hashirama learnt the special chakra mentioned.

PS: You are free to disagree :)

Fixed my post, apparently I was a bit unclear :p
Ok ;) Btw, scans from anime and manga both count as evidence not just manga alone.
