Hashirama and Madara Friends??

Now Now guys don't turn you flame throwers on me yet, just here me out.
It is stated through out the course of Naruto that the Senju and Uchiha's have been the two top tier clan's until they either spread out or got wiped out.

I always wondered for a while now have Hash and Madara, been at one point or another friends. I mean think about it, It has been stated that "when someone hired the Senju clan, the opposing side would hire the Uchiha clan and vice-versa, causing frequent battles between the two". So Madara won some and Hashirama won some,But Hash Won the Final battle( Now this is just something i believe personally cause i refuse to believe Hashirama kicked his ass every single time they fought and i will continue to believe this til Kishi stated otherwise).
I really can't imagine not being cool with each other after so many battles lol like:
Madara: Hey Hashirama
Hashirama: Hey Madara
Madara: Wanna fight today?
Hashirama: Nah, I wanna go puff
Madara: Can I come yeah
( Couple of mintues later)
Hashirama: Hey Madara
Madara: Yes.
Hashirama: Wanna start a Village?
Madara: Hell yeah, Dude.
Etc. ( I could make a whole script about this but you know lmao)
Also think about this, Madara couldn't have hated him if he Help Found Konohagakure, He only begin to get pissed when he realized that he couldn't be leader.
Also look at the things Madara has said lately:

( look that is the same face sasuke gave when he noticed Naruto had a bridged named after him, sasuke smiled because he remembered his time with team 7 and more importantly his friendship and bond with naruto).
Is it possible Madara is also remembering his friendship and Bond with Hashirama?

Fun facts:
*While contesting Hashirama for the title of Hokage, Madara in his own way, was very loyal to Konohagakure, as he tried to force Iwagakure into serving Konoha, even after an alliance had been formed between the two villages.
*Madara possesses a high level of respect and admiration for Hashirama as well as the Senju name as seen during the Fourth Shinobi World War where he would praise and curse Hashirama or other members of the clan in the same breath.
*Conversely, he also lamented that he would have taught Hashirama how to resurrect himself if he had known how much weaker the modern day shinobi would be compared to them.
* It was Hashirama, who first believed that all Konoha shinobi should show true loyalty to each other, and that a Kage must be willing to put his life on the line for his village to set an example for all others. This belief of his is known as the "Will of Fire".
*Hashirama also seemed to have a sense of honour regarding his opponents and, despite their rivalry, possessed great respect for Madara Uchiha.

So just tell me your opinions on this theory. Do you guys believe it was possible?

I think they were if they formed the village together. Also, when he's talking about Hashirama, he smiles. I imagine them sort of like Naruto and Sasuke....except more powerful and older...and village leaders.

i believed both of them were friends at one point but there clans were equal and so were they but hashirama finally beat him, i think with someone help

I like your theory! Good thread .. I totally believe they're friends (I'm still believing somehow Madara sees Hashrama as his true friend )

I think in the beginning they had the same rivalry/friendship that Naruto and Sasuke shared. But afterwards it escalated.
I'm not sure if they were really friends, but at the very least they respected each other a lot
