Hashirama's alive reveal. The moment Kishi revealed that Hashirama Senju was a bit of a loudmouth doofus is one of my favourite moments in the series, looking back. After years and years of this image of a stern-faced wood shinobi God we'd all pieced together...he's cracking jokes.
"Woah! There's a Fourth?!"
Not only is this a really interesting way of reminding the audience that historical figures irl were just people too, but it allows for Hashirama to actually be interesting. Look at Madara and Hashirama and cast your mind back before we knew them. When Madara got revived, his personality added nothing to his character that we hadn't guessed already. Arrogant, elitist and slightly sexist are the generic Uchiha traits I can make outta him. But with Hashirama IMO, we got an interesting take on a legend bit of lore who didn't need to be interesting or human.
These two flashbacks tell you everything you need to know about Hashi. A nice and humble guy who could wipe out the entire 5 Nations...but still isn't above asking politely.
Hashirama is a smiling and naive guy who just happens to be God of Shinobi. His powers got wanked like crazy back in the day but he, as a character has always been underrated. He's still the same kid working to make his childhood dream a reality without letting his darker moments define him like Madara did. In short: he's an interesting Naruto who isn't afraid to get his hands bloody and a better Madara, with actual depth.
