After re-reading Chapter 623 as Hashirama was mentioning to Madara the name of his new technique during the flashback, he reveals it is in fact a Katon type jutsu mixed with taijutsu & genjutsu (areas we already knew he was skilled in) & was also using the Tiger Hand Seal which has always been associated with Katon release jutsus. Given that; what type of Katon jutsus do you think he may possess & could this be the reason Amaterasu has never been seen as a factor in his battles against Madara & the Uchiha or if Hashirama possesses a Katon jutsu that may rival even Amaterasu?

Please share your thoughts.shodaimeicon:

I mean, I am sure he does have Katon jutsus, but just because he is shown using the Tiger seal does not guarantee he has it.

I think he was talking about doing a combination attack with madara and that madara would be doing the katon in the combo

This proof is sad. It has not been proven that Hashirama possessed Katon just because he used the Tiger seal.

I think he mean't a combo jutsu where Madara would be using Katon... *_*

Anyway, all hail Lord Hashirama, overseer of our saviour, Lord Tobirama. xD

Hashirama was a child fantasizing about a great jutsu with a new found friend when infact that great jutsu he was talking about is sage mokuton with a few 1000 hands. He hasnt used fire ever nor his brother so i cant say he has it. Just like madara n izuna they never were shown using amaterasu. Do they have it? Im just saying i believe what i see with my own eyes. But if hashirama can also use fire would u say he has a bloodline expansion like 2 tschi n 3rd? Wouldnt he have particle style or dust style? Im just saying.

That looks much more like a reversed ram than tiger seal.

I understand where you are coming from, I checked the seals too after I noticed that, but I could not really decipher enough of a difference to get a conclusion from that alone, but that the fact that he says he developed a Katon jutsu combined with seal it what solidified my theory, you can't develop a Katon jutsu without Katon release...shodaimeicon:

Uhm, you do realize he is a kid, naming a jutsu like a kid would... A katon genjutsu can be an imaginary fire jutsu. You must be quite dedicated putting so much thought into something like this U_U nonetheless, don't get your hopes up.

Honestly, it was something I noticed while re-reading the chapter, thought I would discuss it, isn't that the point of a forum? Regardless, Kakashi was a child when he invented the Chidori, the age of the shinobi is irrelevant when dealing with prodigies, my point is how does one develop a Katon jutsu without Katon release; not to mention he was using what appears to be the Tiger seal which is often associated with Katon jutsus, either way its just a theory.shodaimeicon:

Uhm, you seem like a Hashirama fan. So I will pin it out for you. First of all, try to notice the similarities between Hashirama and Naruto. Naruto once made a similar technique, although I don't recall its name, I'm rather certain he used it against Neji in their fight. It was just as similar type of over hyped name, for a rather weak jutsu.

This simply proves that Hashirama probably had just invented his own jutsu, and as he is a child he made something he found "cool" over being effective. And as he says, Katon genjutsu, it literally means fire genjutsu. Anyone can do that, if he knows genjutsu, since genjutsu is not related to chakra types. It's not like Kurenai can use mokuton, because she creates trees in her genjutsu?

Tbh, it's not your fault from not seeing it. It obviously is Kishi trying to be funny again, but given how bad he has become at it, and how few "comic" scenes that have been given room for lately, it's no wonder if people are confused. Only reason I'm not forgetting his type of humor, is because I adored part 1, and re-read it often.

I am a fan of Hashirama & many other characters, regardless, the said jutsu also is composed of Taijutsu; according to the name so it clearly is not solely a genjutsu, not to mention he appears to be holding the Tiger Seal which has long been associated with the Katon Release, either way its just a theory, as if he is literally speaking of Katon release that would mean he does has it in his arsenal & if he does what are the implications of that, but like I said "if".shodaimeicon:

Well if I were to explain it simplier, it's not really a jutsu, it's like when u were a child, you would name some imaginary power ranger move something like: "Exploding unimaginable round-house kick"-or whatever. And you can back it up, with the translation from ***********, which I was just looking at:

He certainly has no fire release, at least not deciphered from those lines. Besides, look at his age at the moment. Unless fire would be his natural element, it would be impossible to awake it at such early. Only a very few shinobi has been seen with 2 or more types of chakra at that age, and the only one I can think of is Sasuke.

So as I said, it was Kishi trying to keep a little "humor" in Naruto....
