Hashi/Minato's Shiki Fujin and Tobirama's Edo Tensei

The purpose of this thread is to theorize how Hashirama or whoever taught him discovered Shiki Fujin and how Tobirama discovered Edo Tensei.


Shiki Fujin summons an actual shinigami which eats the user and the victim's souls, sealing them in it's belly. A shinigami in Japanese culture is like the grim reaper, his job is to make sure a person moves on to the next world when they die, but for some reason if you know how to do this jutsu u can get your own shinigami to eat people instead of allowing them to pass to the next world. The only logical explanation for this that I can think of is at some point a living person came in contact with a shinigami and was told about this contract technique.

We have only seen Konoha elite able to use this technique, be them Senju or supporters of the Will of Fire. This happens to be the perfect technique for the Senju clan, the descendants of the younger son who believe love is the key to peace, because it is always used to sacrifice yourself to save others.

With that said I believe there is a possibility that the technique was left to the Senju clan by the so6p just like he left the tablet to the uchiha. After all, who better to meet a Shinigami in person than a guy who could create life.




Now on to Tobirama and Edo Tensei.

Why would Tobirama seek out Edo Tensei? There must have been someone close to him whom he was consumed by the idea of bringing them back to life.

How did he create it? I don't think he sat around a lab just killing animals, smearing DNA and performing hand motions until something happened. The most logical explanation again is that an entity like a Shinigami told him of this technique.

How he would have met a shinigami I have no idea.



Let's also throw the rinnegan and the King of Hell into the mix. Somehow having the rinnegan can give you Shinigami like powers of being able to send people's souls to the pure world or pull them back from it by summoning the actual King of Hell to do these things. It would seem that a living person can become so powerful that they can affect the pure world whilst still alive in the impure world. This line of thought could lead to the possibilities of shinobi being able to escape the pure world on their own accord.



Does anyone else have any ideas on how these techniques were created?

yeah i was shocked to hear that tobirama was the one to create edo tensei, like orochimaru obviously was ****ed up enough to sit in a lab and kill animals until something happens lol, but Tobirama? unexpected considering he is senjuu.

notice how both Senjuu and Uchiha have ways of creating life (Edo Tensei / Rinne Tensei) because they are fragments of the SO6P.

I really hope we can learn more about tobirama, he sounds interesting but we know the least about him by far out of any kage of the leaf

I wouldn't kill anyone to see chapters of Tobirama or Hashirama but I mean, if Kishimoto doesn't show them he is the biggest troll of them all

It was stated by the third hokage that minato created the shiki fujin jutsu by learning the uzumaki sealing that he combine them and come to a solution to create the jutsu and also the ftg that he create and rasengan by observing the tail beast bomb when the third was fighting oro, he mentioned that he will demonstrate a jutsu oro doesn't know and the last hokagee the hero who save the village taught him and when oro saw the jutsu, he was suprise because he has never seen it before and said that he knows all the jutsu in konoha but the third said minato taught him the jutsu that he had created.

As a person said above, Minato made the Shiki Fujin himself, he was not taught it by any Senju. So that whole theory goes out the window. He created it based off of seals that Kushina taught him, which were Uzumaki seals obviously.

Maybe in Tobirama's version of Edo Tensei, the caster had to use himself as the sacrifice instead of others in order to resurrect a fallen ally. That makes the technique sound a little bit more noble.

What I dont really get is what Madara means by Edo Tensei's supposed to wipe the map clean along with the caster. The caster of what? Edo Tensei? WTF!! I dont see why that would happen. Not in any of the numerous occasions that characters have independently recognized and identified Edo Tensei as Tobirama's technique have any of them done so because maps were wiped clean. All of them came to the same conclusion because dead people were being resurrected. Not because maps were wiped clean. Does that mean that any or all Edo Zombies has some sort of "Nuke" ability. And why did Orochimaru not "wipe the map clean" during the Konoha crush.

So u think minato sat in a room putting seals on the floor until a shinigami showed up and minato said "hey buddy, next time ill have u eat someone" and that's how the jutsu was created? That is just sillyness.


BTW you contradict yourself quite a bit. It wasn't taught to him through descendants of the senju u say but kushina taught him the seals for it and she was a descendant of the senju... Also provide proof that minato invented shiki fujin.
