He analyzed Sasuke and that's it. He praised his speed. If you wanna say he praised Sasuke, then you have to say that he praised Naruto in the same panel also, he acknowledged they weren't just some kids and that they could see/sense his limbo.

And Gai got waaaaay more praise than Sasuke
