I mean we never learned anything about him once Obito used him at that one time to kill the mist anbu and jonins, isn't it strange? Off topic, I realised that Madara probably hasn't read the whole Uchiha tablet. When he read it, he only had EMS, he hadn't acquired rinnegan which means that he couldn't have read the whole thing. After all he was very old when he got it and there is no way he could have gone back to the leaf in his current state, after all he had to be connected wtih the Mazou in order for him to keep living.

Well in a way he was because it's exactly because of his shape that Obito could use him to fight in his weakened state and its because of that exact shape that he later used that pattern for his mask.

I believe Swirly was Obito's closest friend after Madara rescued him, the mask is most likely paying homage to him. I don't know whatever happened to him though, maybe he became Black Zetsu overtime....

No black zetsu was created by Madara's will, it has nothing to do with him.

I see, that's definetely an interesting idea, thank you for sharing it. Still though, if the spiral zetsu was the one was doing the goofy Tobi, it still doesn't explain why Obito kept him inside of him, once his true identity was revealed. It would be interesting though to see him emerge out of the blue. After all in the last chapter, Zetsu did say something about the "insides, though he may refer to Obito's organs

But spiral zetsu is a living being, it's not like a mere suit. If he had actually been attacked back then, then he would most probably feel pain or at least react in some way, he wouldn't just remain unfazed.

Correction, he is/was not a living being he was created by Madara. The fact that he has the ability to talk & feel pain doesn't make him a being. What did you expect him to do when the Rasengan hit him & Obito, scream then detact himself? lol
