[Question] Has a manga or animes tryhard-edginess ever turned you away?

I was at my local bookstore yesterday checking out some manga. I came across this one called 'gangsta'. My first reaction was

You must be registered for see images

Then when I started to open it up and read it jumping from page to page I was like

You must be registered for see images

but then... I looked back at the name of the manga and went

You must be registered for see images

even though the art was good its like I could tell that they were trying really hard to depict a 'hey kids! this is COOL!' type of thing. Shame cus i really wanted to like it.

Has anybody here had similar experiences?

And not that I'm not used to disproportionate bodies in fictional media but for some reason the oversized hands really bothered me on this one.

If anybody here has read it and would like to recommend it to me I may give it a chance.

The title and the cover just make that manga "Gangsta" look super corny lol. But no, I have never had that experience.

Yes. Any time you have something like... Alicard. They were trying way too hard to be "cool".
