She didn't say slavery is bad moron she said " Why is white America so reluctant to identify white college males as a problem population?"
it's perfectly harmless
If you knew anything about anything you'd know that this is a (clumsy) critique of black males being viewed as a problem population by institutions run by college-educated white males
Aside from that, her other comments target things like "white masculinity" which is a legitimate term in social scholarship for behaviors that manifest based on the intersection of race and gender
It's Twitter tho so
I mean seriously, Twitter is the most satirical social media site of the big three and people are sensitive af
Bunch of freaking anti-intellectuals who decry political correctness but don't understand jack and get hyper butthurt when people who aren't white aren't politically correct
I mean, she was gauche, but her couple of tweets isn't the same thing as some Duke professor editorializing in the NYT comments section about blacks being lazy
Both should be allowed to say what they want though, I'll give you that
But private institutions like universities have the right to regulate the behavior, including speech, of their employees as long as it doesn't transgress against state and federal guidelines (or basic human rights).
Deal with it
