lol, I was catching up on the news and I find this

BBC News said:
Harry Potter would have been a better match for Hermione Granger than Ron Weasley, author JK Rowling appears to suggest in a new magazine interview.

Speaking in Wonderland magazine, the writer said she made Ron and Hermione a couple "for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility".

"If I'm absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that," she told guest editor Emma Watson.

The actress played Hermione in the film versions of Rowling's fantasy novels.

In the interview, published in full in the latest edition of the Wonderland quarterly, Rowling admits she made a mistake in having Hermione marry Ron at the end of her seven-novel cycle.

"I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy," Watson responds in excerpts from the interview printed in the Sunday Times.

Rowling said she could "hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans" of her work and that she hoped she would not be "breaking people's hearts" with her revelations.

Ron and Hermione, she reportedly goes on, would have needed counselling to sustain a relationship the best-selling author describes "as a form of wish fulfilment" on her part.

Potter fans will be aware that Ron and Hermione eventually marry at the end of the Potter saga, and that Harry himself marries Ron's sister Ginny.

Daniel Radcliffe played the title role in the eight Harry Potter films, while Rupert Grint and Bonnie Wright played Ron and Ginny respectively.

But, you know, I find it kinda shallow and insulting to hermione
I find it insulting to Ron -.-''

I never really cared about the ships in HP, just loved the story ... DumbledorexGrindelwald though ;)

logically HxH would make more sense but why say it now? she's just gonna make the fans rage

I've read that article two hours ago and I just couldn't believe she actually admitted it. Hermione and Ron belong together and no one's going to change that ever, not even Rowling. =D

First of all, I'm a Harmony fan; so somehow I do love that comment. But hey, still, Ron x Hermione remain canon; so her interview doesn't change anything..

Secondly, book-wise, Harry & Hermione had good relationship but no seeds of romance was ever planted by Rowling. The romance elements between Ron/Hermione was becoming evident since the 3rd book pretty clearly...But I'm immensely glad that once Rowling started to shift her interest onto Harry/Hermione, she never changed her plot. This interview may be insulting to many, but give JK Rowling - she NEVER turned HP into a weapy ****ery love triangle where emo shits gonna overlap the story...Wait, did that sound like Twilight...xD

So yeah, even if I love Harry & Hermione - Ron/Hermione remain real and together for the good reasons...

Still, movies-wise, Rupert/Emma's chemistry doesn't hold a candle in front of the intensity and passion of Daniel/Emma. They create magic on screen - they are one of the major reasons that made many fans melt over Harry/Hermione's chemistry...Just re-notice their scenes..there's a catharsis and connection that's just surreal and beautiful in between them.

I feel as if Hermione x Harry is far too glorified of a ship. The cleverest witch of her age and the Boy Who Lived? It seems too scripted, too forced, and definitely too predictable.

Ron and Hermione just seem to compliment each other better. Ron was always hiding in the shadows of his older siblings, where Hermione was always noticed for her intelligence. Ron comes from a pureblood family and Hermione from a muggle family. For me, Ron and Hermione are just like a mold. Where Hermione has her holes, Ron can fill them (don't be dirty) and vice versa. They just make something cohesive.

Plus, Ginny and Harry had undeniable chemistry and if you want to deny it, read the sixth book again. >_>
