[Discussion] Happiness vs Survival

Alright so I was arguing with someone over this. I chose Survival.

Ok here's the situation: YOU know that Humanity will go extinct in 2 years. But you have been given two choices. One to save the race and the other is 'humane' (I suppose :|)

Option 1: For the next 2 year YOU and EVERY Human on the planet will live in perfect peace and harmony, Everyone would be happy

Option 2: YOU can save Humanity. BUT you must give up everything you own and you must give up your happiness.


Which option would you choose?

Ignorance is Bliss. I'd choose happiness. Everyone being happy on Earth is heaven.

Option 1. If we're living in perfect happiness, that means everything we want will happen in those 2 years and we can all die happy, and who doesn't want a happy death?

i choose option 2. humanity will go on living, and the people should find their own happiness like they always do. the first option sounds a lot like the infinite tsukuyomi - live in peace and happiness (based on a lie), but die soon after.

I choose Survival.

It would seem logical to choose option 2 but option 1 is the best overall. If you consider the fact that people will die no matter what and they could die miserable in the future, why not make everybody happy and die peacefully together?

Option 2. It has already happened to me other than the saving world part so why not get a benefit out of it?

Two. "Peace" isn't the pinnacle of happiness for me.. In addition to such, I shall be remembered correct? I will rather live a long life with sorrow and have a great legacy, then live great and have a horrible one. [Unsure why].

Well if the world was more humble hell yeah 2 but look around, about 90% of people won't give a $Hit about me after.I am not saying worship me, but i am just saying to be humble about it.If i choose 2 there gonna be like " ok thanks, whatever"
