Those were mercenaries, not samurai. And also, Mifune is no ordinary Samurai, he is a master of Iaido. Meaning ninjutsu is useless because the time it takes to weave hand signs, he would have already cut you down. This is why Hanzo lost, because he was stripped of his ninjutsu.

And Hanzo would stomp. Zabuza uses his mist, Hanzo uses his Salamander's poison fog, or his other abilities (Hanzo forced the Sannin to retreat during the 3rd Ninja War, and Jiraiya was surprised whenever he was defeated, meaning he was quite powerful).

Zabuza lost to a Kakashi who passed out after using the Sharingan once and only used suiton bushins in that fight, a water dragon and a water vortex. Wasnt samurais zabuza fought. Sasuke fought samurais. ANd they were fodders.

Fact 1: HAnzou defeated the best samurai (mifune) in his prime in his own game.

Fact 2: Hanzou lost to a better prepaired mifune and commited suicide.

Hanzo.

I guess first off, he solo'd and named the Sannin.

After that, Hanzo was skilled enough in bladed combat to beat the greatest swordsmen in the series (when said Samurai...Mifune....was actually young and fit). This places his swordplay equal to or above (I say above Zabuza). Not to mention he had a poison dipped blade.

In addition, it was said his speed in water was unparalleled....Zabuza is a water style user so I'd imagine he'd try to fight around water.

Next, Hanzo was a master of explosive traps. Zabuza was seen to fall for a shadow clone trap, so I say its reasonable he would fall for Hanzo's.

Finally, with his summon Ibuse, Hanzo has poison and a tall summon to counter the Hidden Mist Jutsu.

All in all: Hanzo of the Salamander
