I do feel the same..esp since i saw some of the recent vs threads kisame has been put against...but with zero intel on hanzo i would think kisame's chances would lower mainly on the poison sac part..which would be helpful esp in the underwater dome with hanzo's speed

I say Hanzou, but it was stated that over the years Hanzou has been slacking on training before his death and being for security or whatnot. Kisame FTW or "Draw".

Edited: That's why Mifune was able to kill Hanzou during the War Arc (or why many think his weak).

Overrated. He fought 3 low level jonins and gave them the sannin nickname.
Nothing more. Any kage level can go the same. He is low kage though.

Also it was said that he had fought chiyo many times and with that chiyo was able to come up with an antidote for his poison clearly hinting that not only were they rivals, he couldnt kill her, but alo his poison his poison isnt potent enough. It takes 2 days before you die.

Fair enough, but let's remember, it's all about matchups. Moreover, I don't know where the myth that the Sannin were low level Jounin came from, this is based on people's opinions and perceptions (they weer around Kakashi's age or Itachi's age which is above low Jounin for sure). I believe they were easily high Jounin but as you say we all have our opinions.

Lady Chiyo was probably a poor matchup for him, as we saw through her battle with another poison user in Sasori. She very much held her own and Sasori is one of the stronger Akatsuki members. She was also quite efficient in dodging and ensuring she wasn't hit that much. If this is in water Hanzo takes this, his speed in water is so essential in giving him the upper hand. Kisame will have an extremely difficult time in landing any blows of some sort on Hanzo.

What will Kisame do against Hanzo's poison? Sure, it takes 2 days to kill but it offers very quick paralysis and even if Kisame was to defeat Hanzo, by opening his poison sack or pierce his stomach he will only be contributing to his own death. So this match cannot end in anything other than a Hanzo win or draw IMO.

Hanzo wins.

He was great at the body flicker technique.
He is a skilled swordsman and close combat would prove fatal for Kisame or Samehada.

Also Hanzo's poison is very toxic, granted it takes two days for you to die but it will be the worst 48 hours of your life. Surely you won't be able to continue to fight after inhaling this toxin.
Hanzo's summoning Ibuse(salamander) has even more potent poison then Hanzo, after inhaling it within seconds you would be paralyzed and would be at the mercy of Hanzo.

Even if Kisame were able to pierce the sac in Hanzos stomach that would not mean Hanzo would lose, it just means he would be stunned for a while giving an enemy an opening. Seriously though Kisame would not be able to pierce the sac with Samehada since it's not a piercing weapon it's more like a mace or flail.
