You're right to question this. Here is a guy who is unfazed at the sight of the Rinnegan on the battlefield and whose body flicker can escape the Gedo Dragon mid-attack. Jiraiya couldn't believe that he had been defeated and even Nagato himself remarked at how much he had changed. but that happened to a younger Nagato, the idea behind Hanzo's character was :

a man of honor/legendary/powerful shinobi that wanted peace but, lost his way and stopped sharpening his skills/improving (didn't see the point of it, became arrogant and lost his goal). before you know it, shinobi's around him kept on improving becoming stronger (including the legendary Rinnegan user Nagato). so loosing to a strong character like Nagato was inevitable, Hanzo wasn't the same powerhouse he was anymore.

kishi gave him a fitting death with the edo tensei (to redeem himself/honor, one last good deed for the sake of peace and the shinobi world), RIP Hanzo ....................

Exactly...hes actin like edo hanzo who was being controlled was using ninjutsu and s*** mifune isnt s***... like u said hanzo helped out mifune
