During the second ninja war...Hanzo was the strongest ninja around. The whole second ninja war was his playground. His poison is something which can barely ever be survived except for in special cases like Hidan and Reanimations, he defeated and titled the middle-aged Sannin, seemingly having no problem defeating them yet being impressed by their skills, defeated Mifune effortlessly, took down Akatsuki with his organisation and survived Nagato and the Gedo Mazu?!!??!

The guy is goddamn tricky and smart to get out of the Gedo Mazu attack alive and I can't think of many in his prime era who could defeat him. Especially with the summoning, his good fighting skills with his weapons (even in his old age) how difficult he is to get close to and how sly and manipulative he can be. He also fought with a sense of honour in his prime, letting Mifune, Tsunade, Jiraiya & Orochimaru survive after they had lost.


This guy was a machine. If you don't have a very strong resistance to poison or alternative tactics, you lose. Simple as that. Shame he went senile with old age. If you agree or disagree with me, let me know- im curious.

Great! I thought i'd get negative feedback for this one but when you really think about it, he really does deserve it.

It's just everyone always forgets Hanzo.

Yeah he's up there....you forgot he solo'd the Sannin plus a platoon of shinobi...without a scratch. Even during his fight with Pain Jiraiya couldn't believe Hanzo lost...and that's while he actually had Sage Mode...if he ddidn't already.

He'd probably be at the end of the top 10 though. I'd say top 15 for sure

I'd say he shares the top ten spot with many formitable shinobi, such as Killer Bee, Muu, Trollkage, Kisame, ETC. But he is VERY strong.

Only a select few can counter his poison, or avoid it. Plus, he's awesome!

Great point you brought up with Jiraiya.

He is one of the only ninjas that could legitimately compare Pein and Hanzo, and he considered Hanzo in his Prime to be stronger than Pein.

Jiraiya did not know the full extent of Pein's abilties, but if you take Jiraiya's words seriously like I do, you have to atleast put Hanzo somewhere close to Pein's strength or higher.

Hanzo would be top 10 if he still was as powerfull as he was when he fought the sannin back then. hanzo is weak now on account his skills drop dramatically

I don't think he's top ten, more like top 15, 20 tops. Don't get me wrong though, he's unimaginably powerful and one of my favorites.

I can't find the page showing Jiraiya's surprise that Hanzo died, but this is close enough.

He's strong, but more like top 15 0r top 20. Everyone in my top 10 (at prime) can solo him without much difficulty..
