I'd hate to be a black person, living in North America.

Being a black person in one of the most racist states in the United States I would like to say

Meh, we all gotta die someday. :coffee:

Anyway OT can't view the clip cuz it would burn too much data, but let this be a lesson to u all. Just because they wear a badge doesn't mean they are competent :hint:

Actually he did apparently have a hand gun, the video is too far away to see for sure but by all news reports he was armed, I just read this story on Sky News. He was unresponsive despite the officers calls for him to put his hands up. What where they supposed to do, wait until he shot one of them to see if he was armed or serious. There is a reason the police tell you to comply when they shout, its because they don't know your intentions, they are not going to risk their lives or the lives of their team just because someone refused to listen, its a dangerous job. It is sad but to be honest, this guy looked like he was possibly suicidal and did what he did to get the police to shoot him, that has happened before.

And I'm not going to defend the individuals involved in that video.

All blacks are criminals and all Muslims are terrorist. Now there's a general consensus that my previous statement is not true.
And you would be right. I don't agree with that statement either. Most of us rational people can come to a conclusion that we shouldn't judge a group of people as a whole based on common negative false impressions presented to us by the press or other form of media. So when I hear remarks like "crooked cops" or "all cops are (place whatever expletive here)" Isn't that the same type of prejudice? Instead of race or faith, it's against a profession. But it's still a profiling a group of people with a common culture. So if it's wrong to judge a person by race or faith or ethnicity, why is it not wrong when people have prejudice against the police based on stereotypes from information fed to us by the press? Just want to put that out there.

Anyway, back on topic. Just because a person is handicapped doesn't' mean they can't commit a crime. Not saying the man in the video was a criminal, but he had more that enough time to put his hands up, surrender, or just do something to show that he wasn't armed. So not all the blame should be placed on the cops alone.
