Hamura was born with the byakugan. Like his brother and mother before him Hamura had two sons, twins. However he finds himself in a dilemma. Having knowledge of what transpired between Indra and Ashura he was concerned that his children would fight for power as well. Therefore, Hamura decided to place a seal on the child he believed was not worthy to be his heir. If this child were ever to grow jealous as Indra did the seal could be activated to stop the child from resorting to violence. However, Hamura's heir decided to use the seal as a way to subjugate his sibling, forcing him into a life of servitude. The heir would then place seals on his brothers children as well so that they can serve any children that he would have in turn. Thus the Hyuga clan and the main/branch system was born.
