I believe Hamura probably wasn't equal to Hagoromo in terms of power but had greater control over the power he did possess and was immune sharingan and another type of genjutsu.

Also, What if Hamura went into seclusion for an extend period of time with the purpose of creating medical ninjutsu? Wouldn't that explain why he isn't historically recognized like his brother? It would also strengthen the theory of Hamura having great control over his power.

Lets Take It A Step Further..

We know that Hagoromo had two sons: Asura having a strong body & Indra possessed Sharingan (We know rest).
Now what if Hamura had daughters instead of sons? That were raised and also lived in seclusion with their father Hamura. They probably weren't as strong as Asura & Indra (in terms of power) but still had greater control over the power they did have. What if Hamura taught his daughters the medical ninjutsu and granted their fathers wish by healing and teaching the rest of the world?

What if the place that Hamura secluded himself at and also rasied his children the Shikkotsu Forest?

It doesn't matter who he's related to, the only people he would be relevant to are Kaguya, Hagoromo, Naruto and maybe (doubtful) Sasuke. I think he has a direct link to Naruto, but that's it.

Well I disagree, I think that after they defeated the 10 tails they each went their separate ways.
