I got to thinking about it a little more and I came up with an interesting theory:The Byakugan could originate from Hamaru's lineage and not from Hogomoro's.
I know this is a pretty far theory to believe in at first, but it does provide us with a somewhat reasonable explanation to how the Byakugan was passed down after Kaguya was essentially defeated by her two sons. We know that that Rinnegan is the mixing of both Asura and Indra's chakra and that the Sharingan originates from Hogomoro's side of the family, so why couldn't the Byakugan originate from Hamaru's? I speculate that in the upcoming chapters we will be given (hopefully) a little more backstory to the second brother and that it may be revealed that Hamaru was the one that passed on the Byakugan and that the Hyuga clan, is in fact, not related to the Uchiha clan.
P.S. I kept it short because really didn't feel like rambling too much.
Thoughts?!
