So I know there is still some time for Halloween to roll around. However I do know some people that have already started making plans and finding costumes for the upcoming 'holiday.' In one of my classes today a 21 year old women said that she had gotten her costume and was going to be a 'playboy' bunny this year.

This made me wonder- why is it ok (expected/excepted) for women and even sometimes men to dress more seductivly on this day, but if they were to dress the same way on a day other then Oct 31st they are then considered to be a sl*t etc.

I found a website that said that 55% of women say that Halloween is an excuse to dress more seductivly and 39% have said that they have worn a seductive costume on this day. ( poll was taken in 2007 kinda old although I expect the number to be higher this year.) So my question is- Do you people of NB believe that it is ok for women/men to wear a 'naughty' costume for Halloween(meaning do you like it, find nothing wrong with it?) Why or why not?

My opinion:
For me I would have to say I have worn a more seductive costume. Nothing beyond a short skirt and a small amount of cleva*ge though (which is usually covered by a jacket due to cold weather anyway). I believe that if the women is 18 and older she should be able to wear a more 'naughty' costume, however, any younger and I think it is a bad influence (if you get my drift).

Even though I say this I dont think its ok for a women to let it all hang out... you have to leave some to the imagination/ not everyone wants to see what yo mamma gave ya.

Don't question the awesomeness.

Halloween rules. I don't care about costumes really on other people. I just want to steal the show xd This year, if I have the time, I'm definitely being Jack Spicer. Maybe I'll find a Wuya, non sealed of coursed.

It is dumb. People degrading themselves like that. Well not exactly degrading if they want to but I hate seeing people wearing stuff like that....

Meh, it depends on what IDIOT you are talking to.

Women don't need an excuse to dress up like that. I would love it if they did it on a daily basis.

HOWEVER, I would not want my wife walking around wearing stuff like that just cuz she could....not cuz its a double standard, but because where I come from (New York City), people can't keep their thoughts in their heads....and I would be in jail right now more than likely for killing someone. U_U

But I wouldn't call them sluts, whats the difference between walking outside in a bikini at the beach and walking to the corner store in a bra and panties? NONE..

But when I have a daughter, this will all be lost on me and the double standard will be in effect........is it right? Nope......do I Care? That is the question. xd

I agree with you on this. I would be the same way with my daughter haha and I understand the wife thing as well and I wouldnt call it a bad thing that you would in a sense stick up for your wife. Some things men say can be degrading and very sexual. Women can be the same way though. But as I said I dont really mind it as long as you dont have ALL of it hanging out (gotta leave some to the imagination in my opinion). Today actually I went to a halloween store and I looked at the little girl section of costumes with my sister and some of them are pretty close to what the teen/womens wear looks like in costumes! Its like whoa  she is only 13 for goodness sakes!!!

Well here in my country, we normally dont celebrate that day but when we celebrate its just annoiyng U_U I just dont like to have kids asking to trick or treat at my door, and sometimes i give them the candyes and they still trow eggs at my window and in the next day i have to clean that filty thing U_U
OT- I think that is wrong because, most, of the people that go trick or treating are kids...
