No Half-life 3 is not yet confirmed, but rumors are Valve are developing it silently as per the Counter-strike creator (
As per Valve's founder Gabe Newell they are trying to create an awesome multiplayer game consistent with Valve's recent ethos/philosophy (games like Left for dead, DOTA etc.) (
Also the fact that the game has been under so much speculation for so long and it's so much anticipated, it increases the pressure on them multifold and they would want to create a stunning sequel to their Flagship game, (see Duke Nukem forever, it was weak after so much long gestation period ) so they are entitled to more development time.
I am patiently waiting for Half-life 3, Portal 3, Fallout 4 and Left for Dead series continuation. I hope Valve creates a mind-blowing game, which acts as a game changer, for which half-life series is known.
