This is part 1 Lee and relatively slower, but bear in mind that Sasuke was able to see through his attack patterns before he awakened sharingan, and a more experienced Sasuke with sharingan get defeated about low difficulty by a weighted Lee. About 2nd scenario, Lee again wins, since he is given a sort of infinite drunken state; which means Haku's attack pattern won't surprise him (kept up with a much more complex Kimimaro), he can evade senbons from multiple directions thanks to such movement:

Gates probably are not needed in both scenarios.
