Haku is heavily underrated

In my humble opinion, the androgynus Yuki Haku, the "Haku of the Ice Release" is an extremily underrated character.

I personally believe that comes from the fact that he was introduced on the very first arc of the series, and the DBZ syndrome (that the next shown villain will always be stronger than the last) brought that up. Here is why I believe so:

He was hyped by Zabuza (one of the seven swordsmen of the Mist and an Elite Jonin) to be stronger than him and used to kill Jonin on a daily basis.

The truth is that Haku was always reluctant to kill because of his kind and puré nature.

He easily dealt with Sasuke, who at the time oneshotted two chuunin (the demon bros). And he did it whitout killing him, what is exponetialy harder than simply hitting a vital point.

He also had an extensive knowledge on the human body, being able to pinpoint and hit pressure points, something that no shinobi whitout byakugan were able to so far. He is also able to do onehanded seals, another unique ability.

He posses an extremily haxxed Kekei Genkai, the Ice Release. Why haxxed? Because it provides him a form of pseudo FTG. Now, before you write me off as a fanboy or a troll:

Look as Haku was able to create an Ice Mirror above Sai (who was hundreds of feet in the air) and teleported right above him. Thats not shunshin. Its a form of teleportation.

And truth is, he was never truly defeated. He simply gave up after one tailed Naruto (who was manhandling a three tomoe Sasuke at VotE) punched him trought the glasses, as he judged himself unfit for being Zabuza's tool for being seemingly defeated. Proof of that is when he realized that Zabuza was in danger, he seized Naruto by the arm and teleported between them, another impressive feat, considering Kakashi's speed and the distance between them.

He was also physically strong despite his lithe body, seeing as he broke Gato's arm by simply tightening his grip on it. Plus managed (on the anime at least) to react to Rock Lee and Gai combo while on his Edo state.

And he did all of this while still being prettier than Sakura.

I miss Haku he and Kimimaru were among my favorite villains in part I.

Yeah he is underrated big time. Take away the handful of god tier shinobi from part 2 and Haku can hold his own against a number of other Jonin and Elite Jonin at that.

I think he's underestimated a bit as well. Mostly because Naruto and Sasuke did manage to fight back at two different times when they were kids.

To answer directly, i think he's Jonin level. He did have mastery over his KKG and wasn't summoned next to other powerful edos by mistake. Just the fact that Kabuto reincarnated him tells a lot about his strenght.
Overall, as a character i think he's very well appreciated.

The fact that Kabuto found it worthy to revive him, put him at least high jounin level. Plus he blocked Gais kick with ease and reacted to Kakashis raikiri strike before it could have hit Zabuza.
