In the Hashirama vs Madara fight, we saw Hashirama "summoning", in lack of a better word, a great statue. I want to suggest that it was not a summoning, but an manifestation of his will using yan release.

First of Hashirama's summoning is to an extent similar to Chiriku's spirit of a hundred hands.

Now notice Chiriku's hands:
They are very similar to the buddhist mudra of dicussion and intellect argument:

When Hahirama went into "sagemode" he got a distinct mark on his forehead, similar but yet different from Tsunades. This mark could be a reference to the hindu tilaka, a symbolic third eye with which you can see the spirit world.
When Hashirama "summoned" this statue his hands where in a position used in no seals, but they are similar to a mudra often seen in japan when talking about Kuan Yin, the goddess of mercy.

It could be possible that hashirama's sagemode is not only a sagemode, but also a proof of his spiritual determination, the will of fire, and his summoning is a manifestation of this will, sense of justice and mercy using yan release where he blows life into form.
Further more the three people we have seen use this spirit form, Azuma, Chiriku and Hashirama have 2 things in common, more or less.
Chiriku was a monk, Azuma was one of the twelve guardians and was connected with Chiriku and Hashirama has som monk-like characteristic.
The three, specially Azuma and Hashirama also possed the will of fire more than most others.

What do you think?

PS He used the same hand stand when he dropped the gates on juubi's tails, gates which look a lot like the entrance to japanese shiinto shrines and is commonly used a symbol of the transition between sacred and profane, perhaps marking the juubi as unholy/ unworthy.

Very good thought process. I don't know, would be cool to see if you're right though, rep.

Hmm nice analysis..... btw if u want a better word for 'summoning', u will find that 'construct' is a suitable replacement...

Yes it is nt his summoning bt a yin release like tsunade..bt it is powerful and so..cool
according to ur theory if it is his power of will of fire then just think after getting the other half of chakra of kurama how much strong will naruto be...plus he also have a strong will of fire and a protecter of piece
